This 5th edition is essentially identical with the 4th one (see Zbl 0718.00003). Inspite of two major changes and rewritings since the 1st edition in 1947 (see Zbl 0030.04803), the purpose and the usefulness of this book has proven to remain the same. It clarifies the basic concepts of nonrelativistic quantum mechanics by solving carefully and in full detail more than 100 problems starting from the most basic situations. The book treats mostly the Schrödinger equation with different potentials (72 problems), systems with spin (11 problems) and a few problems with several particles (two or three (8 problems) and many (6 problems)).
