A direct proof is given for a result of \textit{J.-L. Mauclaire} [Proc. Jap. Acad., Ser. A 57, 223-225 (1981; Zbl 0498.10032)] that connects R. C. Buck's measure on \(\mathbb{N}\) to Mauclaire's measure on a compactification of \(\mathbb{Z}\).
