The author constructs a \(p\)-adic cohomology theory for number-fields which combines étale cohomology (away from \(p)\) with crystalline cohomology at the prime \(p\). The corresponding \(H^ 1\) had been defined previously by \textit{S. Bloch} and \textit{K. Kato}. The author shows duality, relates the theory to flat cohomology of group-schemes, and computes Euler-characteristics.
