Using techniques from optimal linear codes, the authors show that there are exactly four inequivalent binary linear self-complementary codes of length 27, dimension 7, and minimal distance 12. An alternative proof of the same result based on quasi-symmetric designs was recently obtained by the reviewer [Geom. Dedicata 48, 295-308 (1993; Zbl 0790.05012)].
