A linear model allowing general surface deformation is applied to the title problem. A general dispersion equation valid for all surface modes of disturbances is derived. The parametric excitation of the electrohydrodynamic surface waves is obtained in the case of Rayleigh- Taylor instability. The method of strained parameters is used to determine the transition curves.
