The authors use a nonzero cusp form of weight \(k\) for every even integer \(k\geq 12\) constructed by Zagier to estimate Fourier coefficients of cusp forms. In particular they obtain a nontrivial estimate by elementary methods, and indicate a relationship with the Lindelöf hypothesis for classical Dirichlet \(L\)-functions.
