\textit{U. Knauer} [Semigroup Forum 3, 359-370 (1972; Zbl 0231.18013)] has developed Morita theory for monoids and acts over them. In this paper it is given an example of nonisomorphic (von Neumann) regular rings \(R_ 1\) and \(R_ 2\) with Morita equivalent multiplicative semigroups.
