The purpose of the paper is to discuss the connection of Lebesgue and Davies-McShane integrals using the method of division spaces defined in non-atomic measure spaces with a locally compact topology. This is a combination of ideas contained in the author's monograph ``Lectures on the theory of integration'' (1988; Zbl 0668.28001) and due to \textit{R. O. Davies} and \textit{Z. Schuss} [J. Lond. Math. Soc., II. Ser. 2, 561-562 (1970; Zbl 0197.041)].
