The classical Trotter-Kato theorem on convergence and approximation of strongly continuous semigroups is extended to the concept of integrated semigroups. The proof relies on an integrated version of a Laplace theoretical approach to the classical Trotter-Kato theorem. Applications to the second order Cauchy problem are given.
