The paper deals with a one-dimensional convection-diffusion equation \(\partial p/ \partial t = \partial [D \partial p/ \partial x]/ \partial x + J \partial p/ \partial x\) where the diffusion coefficient \(D\) and the drift coefficient \(J\) are constant, which enables a time scaling to reduce (by several orders) a large number of times steps usually required within numerical simulation. This allows to treat complex diffusion problems in very large lattices or complex media. The presented, local interaction simulation approach is based on a parallel processing. The efficiency is illustrated by several numerical examples.
