Solutions of the sine-Gordon equation with a singularity are investigated numerically. The conditions for the existence of periodic modes in a one- dimensional Josephson junction of finite length with a micro- heterogeneity are investigated. Periodic modes are excited by controlling the current function. New periodic modes are obtained.
