Letter to the editor: Nonuniform estimate in the central limit theorem for additive functions (Q1324894)

Concerns the author's paper [Lith. Math. J. 29, No. 3, 265-271 (1989); translation from Litov. Mat. Sb. 29, No. 3, 507-516 (1989; Zbl 0697.10045)]. In Lemma 2 of [loc. cit.] in the definition of \(Q_ V (y)\) the factor \(1 + | x |^ s\) had been omitted and additionally one has to assume that the \(s\)-th absolute moment of the distribution \(V(x)\) is finite. After these changes, the assertion of Lemma 2 as well as its proof remain valid. The estimate \(Q_ V(1/T) = O(L_{n3})\) on page 269 is true.
