This paper is a natural continuation of a previous survey article by the same author [Apl. Mat. 35, No. 4, 257-301 (1990; Zbl 0724.47025)]. Here the author discusses abstract existence theorems for the equation \(Au= b\), with \(A\) being weakly continuous and coercive, as well as applications to boundary value problems.
