Waves travelling along multilayered orthotropic cylindrical shells reinforced by longitudinal ribs (Q1326128)

We obtain general solutions of equations of motion using a refined theory based on the model of Timoshenko and dispersion equations for multilayered orthotropic cylindrical shells reinforced by longitudinal ribs (stringers). We consider the discrete location of the ribs in deriving the equations of motion. We examine shells reinforced by a regular system of ribs (i.e., shells in which the geometric and mechanical parameters are the same for all of the ribs, with the distances from the longitudinal edges of the unclosed shell to the nearest ribs being equal to the distances between the ribs.
