We discuss the effects due to random nonuniformity of the guide. We will use the example of the uniform motion of an object along a string lying on a linearly elastic base. It is assumed that stiffness of the elastic base changes randomly along the string, while the force with which the object acts on the string in the transverse direction is assigned. It is shown that the effect of transient radiation on the vibrations of the object is equivalent to the effect of dissipation in the guide.
