The paper indicates a generalization of the Riemann mapping theorem to the space of abstract CR manifolds which are small perturbations of the standard CR structure on the unit sphere in \(\mathbb{C}^ 2\) by means of the interplay between contact geometry and CR geometry. This detailed programme is undertaken with a view to extend the same approach to higher dimension.
