The authors give a systematic and self-contained survey on nonlinear eigenvalue theory for mappings in Banach spaces. The presentation builds on topological degree and fixed point theory. Classes of operators considered are compact, condensing, and monotone (with respect to a cone) operators. Multivalued acyclic-valued operators are discussed as well.
