An effective algorithm is introduced, which uses the deformed but unrotated configuration to satisfy the objectivity exactly, over the entire time increment. When combined with explicit algorithm, it produces an algorithm with accurate results for both finite strains and finite rotations, while satisfying exactly the objectivity. The algorithm applies to both rate-independent and rate-dependent (with or without a yield surface) \(J_ 2\) elastoplasticity. It accommodates isotropic, kinematic, and combined isotropic and kinematic hardening, including possible noncoaxiality of the plastic strain rate and stress (e.g., for frictional materials), as well as thermal softening.
