The paper is concerned with a system of ordinary differential equations derived from forced oscillation systems by an average Lagrangian method. As in the case of the Lorenz system the largest compact invariant set \(X\) for the system may contain a strange attractor. Applying the Kaplan-Yorke formula the authors give an upper bound for \(\dim X\) and compare it with numerical results.
