The paper deals with line detection operators for low-resolution, low- contrast noisy gray level images. Three different algorithms are presented. The first employs a conventional tracking approach. The other two combine a confidence measure and best-first resp. depth-first graph search techniques. Experimental results demonstrate the superiority of the latter two approaches. The paper may be of interest for scientists engaged in problems of image analysis.
