A numerical solution to predict the rate of heat transfer, along with the details of temperature and velocity fields, for laminar free convection from a vertical frustum of a cone without transverse curvature effect (i.e. large cone angles when the boundary layer thickness is small compared with the local radius of the cone) to power-law fluids is presented. The uniform surface heat flux boundary condition is considered. The coupled nonlinear partial differential equations for the momentum and energy equations have been reduced with a powerful nonsimilar transformation and then solved numerically.
