The authors investigate numerically how the volume of certain tube-like neighbourhoods of random walk trajectories in Euclidean 3-space depends on the width of the neighbourhood and the ``diameter'' of the random walk trajectory. The numerical findings are related to analytic results by \textit{F. Spitzer} [Z. Wahrscheinlichkeitstheorie Verw. Geb. 3, 110-121 (1964; Zbl 0126.335)].
