A least squares method is employed to fit known digital points of a curve to two cubic polynomial functions, one with \(y= f(x)\) and one with \(x= g(y)\). The tangent angle and curvature are then computable. Hybrid procedures are also proposed to select the better curve from \(f\), \(g\). Extensive results are given on both analytic curves and real-world images.
