The authors report the direct observation and characterization of a chaotic structure in an externally driven ion-beam plasma system with the help of a strange attractor. They use the Poincaré sections for identification of periodic bifurcations and chaos. The results of the work by \textit{M. Kono, H. Nakashima} and \textit{Y. Komori} [J. Phys. Soc. Japan 61, 407-410 (1992)]are used.
