The authors deal with the problem of generation of optimal NC codes to drive milling machines for models defined by freeform trimmed surfaces. The underlying mathematical problem consists in generation of toolpaths for surfaces. Two previous methods are combined and form the basis for new adaptive isocurve algorithms. The output toolpath is claimed to be nearly optimal but this statement should be made more clear and precise.
