A spectral discretization in both space and time for solving hyperbolic problems is investigated. The differential equation, initial and boundary conditions are collocated at an overdetermined set of points and the approximate solution is found by the least squares method and by preconditioned residual minimization. The spectral rate of accuracy is proved. Numerical results are presented.
