The splitting theorem for orbifolds (Q1331506)

A generalization of the Cheeger-Gromoll splitting theorem for Riemannian orbifolds is given. Specifically, if \(O\) is a complete Riemannian orbifold with nonnegative Ricci curvature that contains a line, then \(O\) splits isometrically as a product \(O = N \times \mathbb{R}\). Also a structure result for the orbifold fundamental group of a compact Riemannian orbifold with nonnegative Ricci curvature is given.
