The author solves the scattering problem of a linear system in \(\mathbb{R}^2\), which has a direct application to the explicit solution of the initial value problem of the Davey-Stewartson system with nonsmall potential. The inverse scattering problem of the Davey-Stewartson related linear system with small potential was solved when the smallness of the potential assures the compactness of some integral operators. In this paper the compactness property is not consequence of the potential approximately constant, but is directly proved.
