Approximating Szász and gamma operators by Bashkakov operators (Q1332234)

Using arguments of weak convergence of probability measures, the authors proved in [J. Approximation Theory 68, No. 3, 322-329 (1992; Zbl 0753.41022)] that both Szász and gamma operators are limits, in an appropriate sense, of Bashkakov operators. In this paper, they obtain rates of convergence for these approximations and show that convergence are monotonic if the involved function is convex.
