This is a very interesting paper that considers the problem of the accuracy of Richardson's extrapolation method for boundary value problems in situations where it seems to be more accurate than the theoretical prediction. This arises when we have only piecewise continuity of the functions rather than functions that have continuity properties throughout the interval considered. The usual theorems are generalized to deal with this situation. Some numerical examples are given.
