The concept of an approach space was introduced by the second author [Q. J. Math., Oxf. II. Ser. 39, No. 154, 235-254 (1988; Zbl 0672.54025)] as an outgrowth of work by \textit{K. Kuratowski} [Fundam. Math. 15, 301-309 (1930; JFM 56.1124.04)]. This paper continues the study of such spaces.
