A controlled plasma discharge is investigated numerically by choosing optimal neutral particle flow profiles. It has been shown that the the optimization can be done by minimizing a specified functional containing the desired and the initially specified perturbation amplitude time dependence. Consequently, the flow parameters for a stable discharge are obtained and discussed.
