The motion of a sphere with weak nutation on a rough horizontal plane (Q1338033)

For the motion of a sphere on a rough horizontal plane, in the previous paper [J. Appl. Mech. 58, No. 1, 296-298 (1991)], the author provided an approximate analytical solution when the nutation was neglected. In this paper, the control equations for the sphere with nutation have been deduced. Through solving these equations, the conclusion about the velocity of contact point in the above paper is proved to be true in the case of nutation. Under the condition of weak nutation, approximate analytical solutions are obtained.
