Thermal stresses in a thick elastic slab containing an annular crack (Q1338195)

We consider the problem of determining symmetrical stress distribution in a thick elastic slab containing an annular crack opened by heat load. It is assumed that the deformation is symmetrical. The mixed boundary value problem is reduced to the solution of triple integral equations, which are then reduced to the solution of infinite set of linear equations. This set is solved numerically for unknown coefficients, and first ten roots are considered. The quantities of physical interest are expressed in terms of these known coefficients, and some graphs are also plotted.
