An infinite plate resting on a homogeneous half-space is considered under a vertical harmonic point-load. The solution of the vertical displacements of the plate are given as a Fourier integral in wavenumber domain. The wave speed and the damping of free waves, the compliance function at the loading point and the wave field at certain frequencies are presented. The results show that there are three different ranges of frequencies: at low frequencies the plate on half-space is dominated by the half-space, at high frequencies the system behaves like a plate without half-space. The intermediate range of frequencies is strongly influenced by the interaction of the plate and the half-space.
