Summary: In [J. Differ. Equations 87, No. 1, 38-61 (1990; Zbl 0709.35090)] \textit{W. Craig} and \textit{J. Goodman} developed the geometrical optics solution of the linearized Korteweg-de Vries equation away from caustic, or turning, points. Here we develop an analogous solution valid at caustic points.
