This paper investigates a biarc toolpath based on arc-spline theory, which reduces the storage and oscillation problems in conventional NC programming. The method uses continuous circular-arc segments to approximate the smooth curve. With a given tolerance, it can remove the excessive data point, and thus reduce the size of the NC program. It should be used instead of a linear toolpath.
