The authors study compact surfaces in Euclidean space up to dimension 5 with a point through which every geodesic is a \(W\)-curve in the ambient space. They obtain characterizations of the sphere, the Clifford torus, and the Veronese surface. Compare the second author, J. Korean Math. Soc. 30, No. 2, 361-369 (1993; Zbl 0823.53004 below).
