This paper is dealing with the harmonic maps from Minkowski space \(R^{2+1}\) into a complete Riemannian manifold. The existence of the regular harmonic map as a perturbation of geodesics is proved. Geometrically, the solution lies in a small tubular region of a given geodesic on the target manifold.
