The second order radiation condition is posed for the circumferential Fourier components of the second order potential, instead of the second order potential itself. It is found that the Fourier components satisfy Sommerfeld radiation condition. The inhomogeneous term of the second order free surface boundary condition is simplified, and then an exact expression for the second order wave force is obtained.
