This paper points out the errors in the solutions of a research work by \textit{N. Nanousis} [Astrophys. Space Sci. 199, No. 2, 317-321 (1993; Zbl 0766.76097)]. The correct solutions of the problem for the velocity field and the drag on the plate, by the Laplace transform technique, are presented. The results are discussed for two cases of an arbitrary time- dependent forcing effect.
