The problem of minimization of the performance functional \[ J=\int^y_0 [X(x_*)+ U(u_*)]dt+ P(x_{f^*}) \] on the trajectories of the nonlinear system \(\dot x_*= f(x_*,u_*,t)\) is considered. Analogy between this problem and special problems of mechanics is established.
