This is a very detailed and richly illustrated account of various places in Göttingen, connected to the lives of physicists and mathematicians such as G. Ch. Lichtenberg, C. F. Gauß, P. G. L. Dirichlet, and B. Riemann. Helpful information is given to a prospective visitor of Göttingen concerning the dwelling-houses, working places and, finally, cemeteries of those and other famous Göttingen scientists between 1737, the year of the foundation of the university, and 1866.
