This paper discusses implementation of a parallel numerical algorithm for simulating multiphase flow in porous media, with application to reservoir simulations. The flow is described by a system of two coupled nonlinear PDEs which is discretized by the finite difference scheme and linearized by the Newton's method. Different implementations are discussed to demonstrate the performance improvement by using different parallelization strategies; automatic parallelization, semi-automatic parallelization, and manual parallelization.
