A finite poset is series-parallel if it is constructed from one-point sets by the operations of disjoint union and linear sum. The authors study some subclasses of the class of series-parallel posets and give their characterizations with the help of order-reversing maps with special properties and with forbidden subsets. Also, classes of relative Ockham lattices are studied.
