The self-gravitating instability of nonstationary rotating fluid in the axial direction has been studied. A general dispersion relation describing the stability characteristics is derived and discussed analytically and numerically. The jet is purely stable under non- axisymmetric perturbations, while the axisymmetric mode is unstable for small wavenumber. The rotation has strong stabilizing influence contrary to the gravitational streaming instability.
