The author gives a short introduction to recent results due to himself, \textit{G. Barthel}, \textit{K.-H. Fieseler}, \textit{O. Gabber} and \textit{L. Kaup} [Ann. Math., II. Ser. 141, No. 1, 147-179 (1995; Zbl 0827.14012)]. In the first two chapters are stated some general properties of the theory of sheaves and hypercohomology. In the last chapter, the lifting of algebraic cycles in intersection homology is discussed.
