Labelled as `Mathematical Entertainment' this paper describes recent developments in set theory that show how large cardinal axioms influence `ordinary' mathematics. In the first part of the paper the author indicates that large cardinal axioms lead to new theorems in number theory and in the second, more explicit part he sketches how large cardinals settle certain instances of the continuum hypothesis via projective determinacy.
