Error bounds are given for the numerical solution of systems of linear ordinary differential equations by global or piecewise polynomial collocation methods. These improved bounds are computed by considering a norm of the inverse of a differential operator and hence of a related matrix. Some numerical results are given based on this approach using Chebyshev collocation points.
