The authors consider the problem of approximate solutions to the Schrödinger integral equation. They suggest an algorithm which is suitable for generating a Monte-Carlo approximation, and test its usefulness by using a square well trial potential to find approximate solutions for an exponential potential and a Pösch-Teller potential. Diagrams are given which show that, within the range of parameters considered, satisfactory approximations to the phase shifts are obtained.
